The Public Authority for Industry, in cooperation with Kuwait University, has completed a study to increase national labor contribution in the private sector for transformable industries, aiming to identify obstacles of raising national labor contribution in targeted sector and studying practical proposals to raise this percentage compatible with National Labor Support Law and percentages set by Civil Service Commission to accommodate private sector for national employment.
The study concluded to several recommendations that would raise the percentages by choosing appropriate professions for replacement and preparing work environment to maximize its benefits. In the settlement professions, it recommended gradual resettlement of 1500 jobs within five years, and in the law enforcement field, the government recommended paying a monthly stipend to the worker during mandatory military service and giving Priority for training, temporize in applying some law articles and media awareness of others.
In work environment preparation field, the most important recommendations were to reduce attractiveness of government work, reduce new appointments, reduce its basic salary, and support the technological development of transformable industries.
Finally, it recommended formation of a team to follow up on implementing commendations stated in the study.
